Why a Downloaded Invoice Filename Never Helps Later
An invoice downloaded from a vendor portal or an email attachment typically arrives named invoice.pdf, or after a second download of a similar file, invoice(1).pdf, invoice-final(2).pdf, none of which conveys who issued it, what it was for, or when it is due.
This becomes a genuine problem the moment more than a handful of invoices accumulate in the same downloads folder, since the filenames alone provide no way to distinguish one from another without opening each file individually.
Filex AI reads the actual content of each invoice, the vendor, the invoice number, and the date, and generates a filename from that content, so a downloads folder of generic PDF names becomes an actually distinguishable billing record.
